So we signed Porter up for a little soccer league this year. It is a league for 3 & 4 year olds and it is HILARIOUS!!!
Aaron got asked to be the head coach of the team, and I am supposed to be the assistant coach. I told Aaron I would be in charge of calling the parents and the treat schedule and he could handle the soccer stuff!
The kids are so funny! Aaron says that most of them tell him they don't want to come back into the game once they have had a break. And Aaron is always picking little kids up off the ground when they are too tired. They also tell him funny things in the middle of the game, like they are going camping, or their mom is at walmart.
Porter definitely hasn't gotten the hang of it yet! It doesn't help that he has woke up not feeling well 2 out of the 3 weeks he has had games. But it is still funny to watch all the kids running around and scoring goals in the other teams goal!! We have been trying to practice at home with Porter and he does really good kicking and running when there aren't any kids around to try and take the ball!!!
A few weeks ago, we took the kids up to Silver Lake to walk around and get out of the HOT!!! It was perfect weather and soooo pretty!
It has a cute little walkway thing around the lake and the kids loved looking at the fishermen and all the birds, squirrels and ducks.
Over Labor day weekend, my sister Kelli and I went up to Swiss Days! We walked around all morning and found some fun stuff! Aaron had taken the day off so I could go without the kids. (what a nice guy huh??) After we were pooped we had Aaron and the kids meet us in Park City for more fun. We ate at Baja Cantina... yum yum! And then we took the kids over to the Alpine slide. I took Sydnee on the carousel and Porter and dad went down the slide.
Sydnee went three times on the carousel while we were waiting for the boys to come down. Can you tell she LOVED it? She would say "wee" the whole time. So cute until I had to take her off and she had a meltdown!
The boys coming down the slide. Aaron said Porter was screaming and yelling and he kept telling Aaron to go faster the whole way down. He loved it!
One happy kid who wanted to go again!
Then on Labor day, we got up and went to breakfast at IHOP with the Wayman's. After breakfast, we were going to go on a "little and easy" hike up to Lake Mary. We thought we could handle an "easy" hike with 2 kids. So we packed up and started hiking.... It turned out to not be a very little and easy hike! It was 1 mile in and 1 mile out and it was way uphill and rocky!
Porter did sooo good. Grandma and Grandpa let him borrow a walking pole and he walked the whole hike except for the last quarter of a mile on the way down. He kept saying "MY LEGS ARE HURTING!" Uncle Josh carried him the rest of the way down!
But we made it! It actually was really fun! Just a little hot and tiring carrying Sydnee.
Sydnee loved the water.
She fell asleep on the hike down. My legs were jello when we got to the bottom. And they were so sore the next couple of days!
We have been LOVING this time of year because we get yummy fruits and veggies from everyone! My grandparents gave us some delicious peaches and some cucumbers, tomatoes, zuchini, & peppers. My parents gave us some apples and Aaron's parents gave us tomatoes, and Aaron's grandma has a HUGE garden with everything in it!
