We just got back last night from a super fun and crazy vacation to Albuquerque! My brother and his family live down there, so we went to visit them. It was so fun to see their family and to spend lots of time visiting, eating good food, and doing lots of fun stuff!
I really don't know how we drove with 2 kids for 10 1/2 LONG hours.... but we did. The first couple hours were the worst and then I think they figured out that we weren't getting out for a long time. This is how Sydnee finally fell asleep on the drive down. We left our house around 6:30 am and got there at 5:30 that night. We only stopped twice.... so our kids actually did really good!
While we were there we went to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. It was sooooo cool! We had to get up around 4:50 in the morning to be able to get in. Here's the crew looking at the test balloons. They go up early and see if it's too windy for the rest. Luckily the wind was okay and it was a great day for ballooning!

Eating a little breakfast before it all got started. We ate YUMMY roasted green chile breakfast burritos and hot chocolate!
While we were waiting for it to start, two balloons started filling up right by each other and we were in the middle. We almost got squished!

We were lucky that we were standing right by this balloon when the guy jumped in and started filling it with the hot air, and then he was off!
We went on "Special Shapes" day, so most all of the balloons were cool fun shapes. The kids loved it!

It was an awesome thing to watch all the balloons. It really is soooo amazing!
We also went to the zoo, aquarium, and the botanical gardens.
One of our favorite animals at the Abq zoo is the polar bear. It was going crazy playing with this barrel thing.
There is a cute little kids park at the botanical gardens. Syd fell asleep but Porter loved chasing Spencer and Carly all around!
We stopped to feed the fish and ducks our leftover french fries.

We had soooo much fun in Albuquerque. We are trying to figure out the next time we can go down there. Thanks Kyle and Michelle for all you did for us.... we had a blast!

What a fun trip! That ballon festival looks amazing! Sounds to me like the kids did great on the road trip! Glad you got to get a good vacation in!
Great pictures! I'll have to steal some of yours too. :) We really had a great time and are so glad that you guys made the LOOOONG drive down to see us! Our kids haven't stopped talking about Porter and Sydnee! We love you guys!
